Bio:

 
Trained journalist Dawn joined Tribe in July 2006 as an account executive, rising to account manager before gaining promotion to account director in 2011 as her skills and experience have developed. 
 
Experience gained at Archant newspapers and her National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Certificate in Journalism helps Dawn bring a greater understanding of the media to Tribe, as well as excellent writing skills and a nose for news. 
 
Dawn studied PR as part of her business and marketing degree.  She is a conscientious and organised PR practitioner who works hard to deliver great results and generate media coverage for her clients.
 
Current and past clients include Greene King, East of England Co-operative Group, Birketts, Pure Resourcing Solutions, Forestry Commission, Learning and Skills Council, Camelot and Windcrop. 
 
 

Donna Chessum

Bio:

 
Donna is deputy managing director and has nearly 30 years’ experience in PR, marketing and media.  She cut her teeth at one of the UK’s leading newspaper groups and was corporate brand manager for Norwich Union before joining Tribe in 2000. 
 
As well as PR, Donna’s experience spans brand management, advertising, corporate responsibility and sponsorship.
 
At Tribe Donna develops intelligent and creative approaches to clients’ briefs and provides astute advice and sound counsel.  
 
Donna is a graduate of LEAD East, a regional leadership programme, has a first class degree in History and is a committee member for the Heritage Lottery Fund for the East of England. 
 
Past and current clients include Greene King, East of England Regional Assembly, East of England Co-operative Group, The Money Centre, Sport England, and not-for-profit business WREN. 
 

Ellen Cave
Ellen Cave Account executive

Bio:

Ellen joined Tribe as a trainee account executive in June 2011 after completing a successful three month internship as part of the University of East Anglia’s Project Evolve scheme.  

 She studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia and after graduating decided to pursue a career in public relations.

 At Tribe, Ellen works closely with account managers and directors and enjoys the excitement and variety that agency life brings.

 Eager to grow, develop her skills and deliver client results with a smile, Ellen has a keen interest in social media trends and how to make use of this valuable tool for clients.

 Ellen’s current and past clients include Blue Sky Leisure, Warings Furniture, Reef One, Windcrop, WREN and Jeyes. 

 

Harriet Thorpe

Likes: Shakira, to-do lists, highlighter pens, re-arranging /reorganising rooms and workspaces

Dislikes: Having my photo taken, losing my keys (often) and grumpy work colleagues

Bio:

Harriet joined the Tribe team in April 2012 as a PR account manager with four years’ PR experience.
 
After graduating with a degree in journalism from the University of Lincoln in 2008, Harriet moved to Norwich and began her PR career as an account executive at a local agency before being promoted in 2010 to an account manager. 
 
Harriet has a wealth of experience across a number of sectors including consumer, engineering, healthcare and charity, but particularly enjoys embracing her journalistic side and showing her creativity through her writing skills!
 
Coming from a smaller agency, Harriet is pleased to be working as part of a larger team and maximising the opportunities of working on new accounts.
 
Harriet’s past and current clients include the East of England Energy Zone, East of England Co-operative, Higher Apprenticeships and STG Aerospace. 
 

Heather Rogers
Heather Rogers Consultant

Likes: Organisation, good wine, dancing - zumba is the current obsession

Dislikes: Whistling, middle lane motorway drivers, losing at cards/monopoly/you name it!

Bio:
Heather’s an expert in communications planning, campaign management and ensuring target delivery.

Whilst at PR agency Citizen, Heather ran a youth engagement campaign using Facebook and live events for the British Red Cross, organized national Vocational Qualifications (VQ) Day and led the Anchor Care Trust ‘Grey Pride’ campaign calling for a minister for older people.

Heather is currently working with the Association of Colleges to implement a Facebook-led campaign to help young people uncover their options post-16.

A former colleague of Tribe’s managing director Patrick Peal, having worked together at Band & Brown, Heather is also a consultant with Claremont Communications and mainly works with Tribe from her Bristol offices.

Mark Sowersby
Mark Sowersby Account director

Likes: Making lists, scoring a goal, Fatherhood

Dislikes: A messy drawer, Peanut butter, Riots

Bio:
A former journalist, Mark joined Tribe as account director in July 2011, returning to his home city of Norwich after 15 years living and working in London.

Mark brings a wealth of media experience to the team having spent eight years working as a digital sub-editor at Sky News and three years as a senior reporter with a number of regional newspapers.

Making the jump into PR when he joined national charity Action for Children as media relations officer, Mark drew on all his professional experience to then take on the role of corporate communications manager at Save the Children. In this position Mark provided PR support to major brand partners including IKEA, Aviva, Morrisons and Lloyds Banking Group.

A big sports fan, Mark is married with two daughters. He wishes he had more hair, more money and more time to learn the guitar.

Mark’s current and past clients include Greene King, Blue Sky Leisure, The Bertram Group, and Jeyes and WREN.

Hannah Freeman

Likes: Live music, baking, online shopping (too much!)

Dislikes: Pork Pies, early mornings, snobbery

Bio:

Hannah joined Tribe as account manager in 2008 before being promoted to account director in 2010.

With both in-house and agency experience, Hannah started her career at a marketing agency before taking a press officer role at a national affordable housing provider.

Hannah passed the CIPR Diploma in October 2009, the industry recognised professional qualification which helps seasoned professionals develop their strategic PR planning and communications management skills.

Shortly after, she made the most of the building skills in her family to construct and complete a self-build project in Suffolk.

As account director, Hannah has great client management skills and delivers results.

Past and current clients include not-for-profit organisation WREN, Greene King, Blue Sky Leisure, May Gurney and Enviroco.

Patrick Peal
Patrick Peal Managing director

Likes: Sailing in a good breeze, pancakes & maple syrup, a plan coming together

Dislikes: Too many emails, slow internet, lack of clarity

Bio:

Patrick is Tribe’s managing director. He set up Band & Brown in the East of England in 1997 and has seen the agency go from strength to strength, and change its name.

An engineering graduate and the former head of communications at Group Lotus, Patrick provides sound business-focussed PR advice and counsel to a range of clients at Tribe.

His particular skills include negotiating public / private sector and multiple stakeholder groupings and distilling simple messages from complex technical information. Patrick’s crisis and issues management expertise has also helped to protect the reputation of a number of clients.

A member of the CIPR and Deputy Chairman of the East Anglia Air Ambulance, Patrick has completed the Matrix course with Common Purpose, the community leadership development organisation.

Patrick’s current and past clients include Jeyes, Norfolk County Council, API Technologies, Bosal International, EKTA LED displays and STG Aerospace.

Simon Francis
Simon Francis Consultant

Likes: Coventry City, real ale and obscure Canadian indie music

Dislikes: Dictatorships, daytime TV and people who don’t vote

Bio:
Simon’s an experienced campaigner and communications consultant with a passion for using marketing to make the world a better place. For over ten years, Simon’s been delivering public relations, communications and behavioural change campaigns for charitable, NGO, public and corporate clients.

As well as a track record working in agencies leading multi-discipline campaigns, media relations, crisis communications, social media, stakeholder relations and public affairs activity, Simon also ran the media centre for over 1,000 members of the world’s media at WorldSkills London 2011.

Other client experience includes Anchor Care Trust, Child in Need India, education foundation Edge, GfK and the National Apprenticeship Service as well as delivering social media training sessions for clients including Gas Safe Register, Welsh Assembly Government and Cabinet Office.


A former colleague of Tribe’s managing director Patrick Peal, having worked together at Band & Brown, Simon is also a director of Claremont Communications, a regular blogger and works with Tribe from Claremont’s office in central London.
