To help launch the new regeneration company, we took to the streets of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth to find out what hopes and ambitions local people had for the area. The vox pops were screened at the launch reception to stimulate debate among the guests as they arrived.
Our unique take on the traditional awards ceremony turned town centres into celebrations of learning. Hosted by rugby star Kenny Logan and BBC sports presenter Ray Stubbs, the Big Skill events gave passers-by the opportunity to learn new things, listen to live music and applaud the achievements of learners from all walks of life as they received their certificates. A partnership negotiated with the BBC ensured extensive media coverage – and we got to see some of the presenters demonstrate newly learned skills!
Changing your logo tends not to make the news – but our idea of throwing May Gurney’s health and safety officer out of an aeroplane for a parachute jump while trailing a branded banner seemed to work!
