Campaign by Greater Manchester Police 'The Drunken Disorderly Inn' Posted: 25/02/2011

Greater Manchester Police developed a 24-day online campaign in December 2010 to curb drunk and disorderly behaviour over the Christmas period - traditionally a time for people to hit the town and have a drink or two to celebrate the festive season .

To discourage party-goers from taking the celebrations too far, GMP designed a spoof hotel-style website complete with a series of videos to sell the 'features and benefits' of a night's stay in the cells. The site gives a tour of the facilities, with online content showing visitors what they could expect in terms of quality of food, accommodation, entertainment and friendly service!

According to PR Week (18 Feb), GMP has revealed that the campaign cost just £12 to develop by the in-house team. The website achieved 200,000 page views during its 24 day duration and alcohol-related assaults were reduced by 25%.

Great campaign, with fantastic use of entertaining online video content that definitely delivered the results.
