The UK’s fastest growing hotel company, Travelodge, has appointed Warings Furniture as the exclusive supplier of bedroom chairs together with bar cafĂ© sofas, chairs and tables for its rapidly expanding UK hotel portfolio.
Warings Furniture won out in a competitive pitch process, led by Procure4, to provide loose furniture for the next two years to more than 460 existing Travelodge hotels and for the company’s future hotel openings.
“Travelodge has more than 460 hotels across England, Scotland and Wales, and an ambitious new opening programme of 36 hotels year. This meant we needed to find a supplier that we could rely on to deliver quality, design and quantity at a competitive price and who were able to turn around orders quickly. Warings proved they could meet our brief,” said Ian Pidgeon, Construction Project Manager at Travelodge.
Norfolk-based Warings Furniture, which specialises in supplying the hospitality sector, has a client rosta which includes Center Parcs, JD Wetherspoons, Pret A Manger, Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurants and Pizza Express.
The company, which employs 53 people at its south Norfolk head office, saw its turnover top £3.3m last year and is on course to hit revenues of £4.2m in 2011.
“We’re delighted to have won the Travelodge contract during a period of ferociously competitive tendering amongst our rivals. We are looking forward to playing an important role in meeting the furniture provision demands of this market leading hotel group,” said director Rachael Waring.
