Tribe shortlisted for four prestigious regional awards

27 Aug 08

Tribe is in the running to scoop four prestigious regional awards having been shortlisted for three categories in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) East Anglia PRide Awards and for the Staff Care Award in the 2008 Eastern Daily Press Business Awards.

In the PRide Awards the Tribe team has been nominated in the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy category along with just one other agency in the region, Colchester-based Mosaic Publicity. The category will be something of a clash of the titans as Tribe won the award for two years in a row in 2005 and 2006 but the crown was snatched away by Mosaic in 2007.

Tribe has also been shortlisted in the Public Sector and Best Use of Media Relations categories for their work on The Big Skill, an awards campaign to promote learning in Norfolk earlier this year. Three members of Tribe project managed the campaign, which saw Strictly Come Dancing star Kenny Logan come to Norwich at the end of May to present eight learners with their awards. The Big Skill was a joint initiative between the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) Norfolk and BBC Radio Norfolk.

Patrick Peal, managing director of Tribe, said: “The PRide Awards are the PR industry’s benchmark and great recognition for those shortlisted and of course the ultimate winners. It’s very satisfying to have been shortlisted in every category we entered but obviously we want to win! We’re determined to bring the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy back to Norwich, and to win that title three out of four years will be no mean feat.”

Tribe has also been selected as one of three finalists in the Staff Care Award of the Eastern Daily Press (EDP) Business Awards. This award is presented to the organisation which most demonstrates the importance of their staff in achieving business goals through motivation, development and good communication. Tribe were finalists in this award category last year and this year the agency is up against NWES and Norfolk County Services.

Patrick added: “It is an honour to be shortlisted in this category and to achieve recognition for the fantastic team at Tribe, and for the strong emphasis we place on the individual and professional development of all our staff. It’s been a landmark year for Tribe in many ways so here’s hoping it will be topped off with success at both award ceremonies.”

The winners of the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Norwich on 17 October. The East Anglian PRide Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Newmarket on 5 December.
