Marketing in a Recession

At Europe’s largest motorsport trade and consumer show, Autosport International, Tribe MD Patrick Peal and Thomas Cowper Johnson, Planning Director for sister agency Barker Johnson Peal (BJP) presented a paper entitled ‘Marketing in a Recession’ to an audience invited by the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA).

The guests, representing both established motorsport brands and startups from across Europe, heard how the current recession will see the acceleration of digital marketing in all forms, from search marketing to online PR, as the drive to seek cost-effective and measurable marketing activity gets traction.

atrick said: “It was clear to see who will be the winners after the recession – those who are in a position to maintain their marketing spend astutely and gain market share as a result.”
