While Donna Chessum, Tribe’s deputy managing director, set out why it is so important to pay attention to what is being said about your organisation online and gave advice on how to monitor and engage in online conversations.

Donna comments: “There’s certainly no getting away from social and online media. Sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, instant messaging, blogs and forums are now part of our every day media, and it is really important to know how to ‘listen in’ and use those channels and platforms to manage your reputation effectively”.

There are several free online monitoring tools available such as Addictomatic. But Tribe has recently invested in a sophisticated system call Radian 6. This is being used to good effect as part of the World Class Norfolk campaign which Tribe is managing for Norfolk County Council. Tribe is able is pick up all mentions of Norfolk in online media and social networking sites, and can respond directly to the journalist, blogger, Twitter or forum user in the same way.
