East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) are proud to announce a new partnership with Norfolk company
Blue Sky Leisure.
Staff from across the group, which owns Kelling Heath Holiday Park, Woodhill Park at East Runton, Blue Sky Homes in Bradwell and the Zaks restaurants in Norwich and Poringland, hope to raise thousands of pounds for the charity this year through a range of fundraising activities.
Danielle Gravestock, EACH Norfolk Fundraiser, said: “EACH is very excited to be working in partnership with Blue Sky Leisure.
“Their support will not only help EACH to carry on supporting families and providing care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex; but it will also help to raise our profile in the local community.
“We’re extremely grateful to Blue Sky Leisure for choosing to support EACH and are looking forward to working in partnership with them in the coming year.”
The partnership was officially launched at Blue Sky Leisure’s annual staff conference, held at The Assembly House in Norwich on January 17, where employees were asked to pitch fundraising ideas to representatives from the charity.
The best ideas will be worked up by teams of Blue Sky Leisure staff volunteers; making use of their existing personal and professional skills and helping them develop new ones – including event and project management.
Ian Hacon, CEO of Blue Sky Leisure, helped get fundraising off to a flying start at the conference by running a sweepstake on how far he would travel on his turbo trainer cycling machine while staff enjoyed their evening meal. Travelling 28.3 miles in one hour and 20 minutes he raised £200 for the charity. He also announced that he would be raising money for EACH when running his third London Marathon in April.
Ian said: “We’re proud to be supporting such a fantastic local charity and pleased that any funds we raise will help EACH continue its amazing work. We spent a long time looking for a charity that would unite staff behind a common cause and from the reaction we’ve had already it’s clear we made the right choice. Staff development and morale is crucial for us, so it’s great to see so many of our people getting involved already – they’ve got some fantastic ideas.”
